Maxine - Stylist
Maxine has been in the beauty industry for over 10 years. She holds a college degree in Business Management, has assisted a world renowned guest artist, and takes continuing education courses in hair, skin, and nail care.
All these experiences have helped Maxine achieve her lifelong dream...to open Serene Hair Studio and Spa. Maxine's vision is to provide an unsurpassed working environment for her staff, a welcoming salon atmosphere for her clients, and the best service money can buy.
In her spare time, Maxine volunteers with the American Red Cross and travels regularly with the Wella Corporation, educating salons and at trade shows so she can also bring her clients and staff the latest trends. While currently a Technical Specialist, Maxine hopes to become a Platform Guest Artist that shares her knowledge with hairstylist from around the world.
Christel - Stylist
Christel came to the United States from South Africa eleven years ago. Her passion for creativity led her to pursue and obtain her cosmetology license here in the U.S., and she has been working in the industry for more than a decade. In addition to her talents as a stylist, Christel is also an artist, with an affinity for painting and African art. Her commitment to continued education and client satisfaction makes her a wonderful asset to the Serene family.
Kim - Stylist
Kim has always had enthusiastic interest and is very passionate about the beauty industry. Her artistic vision for hairstyling began at a very young age, as Kim was inspired by her uncle who is a well-known stylist. When Kim was a high school student, it became an interest of hers to study the roots of the profession and become educated in the history of hairdressing. It was then, that she realized it was her dream, to one day become a professional stylist.
With six years experience, Kim brings the most current trends and techniques to her clients here at Serene. She is an expert hair colorist and has been working with the Wella color line for quite some time; this knowledge gives her the confidence and the skills as a valued stylist.
Kim attended the Graham Webb Academy in Washington, D.C., where she trained and expanded her haircutting abilities and techniques. Along with attaining her Wella Colors of the World certification, Kim has also attended technical cutting classes at the Wella Institute in NYC. With her passion for the industry, Kim will always keep up with the latest styles and techniques to serve her every clients needs.
Laura - Spa Therapist
Interested in the art of beauty at a young age, Laura was pointed in the direction of cosmetology school. After graduation, her focus directed toward relaxation as she attended Butler County Community College for massage therapy. While finding her niche in the spa, Laura continued to take courses through Dermalogica and workshops. Some of the classes included effectively treating sensitive skin and acneic skin, protecting the skin from the effects of aging, skin analysis, facial massage, and several body courses to name a few. She enjoys educating her clients with a warm and caring personality as she thrives on reducing stress in every treatment.
Pat - Nail Specialist
From natural nails to nail enhancements, Pat has over six years in tip application with gel nail overlay, specialized experience in natural nail care, and continued education on pedicures with a focus on maintaining good foot health. Pat is a research guru so every product that is utilized during any Serene treatment was researched and tested to ensure unsurpassed quality of work. For example, Creative Nail Designs Brisa Gel products were chosen because of their durability and reputation, with that, Pat has become Master Certified in the gel application process. She will ensure to assess each client's personal nail needs and will follow up with a specialized treatment and regimen. It is also because of Pat that we at Serene deliver flawless, instant, airbrush tanning. Even after all of this Pat still finds time to be the Community Service Representative at Serene so we can give back to those in need.
Andrea - Spa Specialist
With seven plus years of experience in the skin care industry and massage therapy, Andrea is passionate about her career. She is eager to relax and renew her clients with her touch at each visit. Continuing education is very important to Andrea as she attends Dermalogica courses regulary along with other workshops and conferences. She is also licensed to perform nail services, and enjoys specializing in event makeup.
